Recommended Practices for Cisco Learning Partners

  • Review this page and all training materials listed on Learning Partner Training and On-Boarding Process for Cisco Learning Network Space (a.k.a. Digital Kits) prior to the start of class.
  • Prior to placing an order for digital kits:

    • Ensure that payment has been received. All orders are final. No refunds, exchanges, transfers or cancellations allowed.
    • Inform the student about the limitation on printed pages and that the student will not receive a printed copy of the materials.
  • Prior to the class start date, ask the student to do the following:

    • Review the Cisco Learning Network Space – User Information
    • Create a Cisco ID, if they don’t already have one. The above page includes instructions on how to do this.
    • Check that their Cisco ID works, as follows:
      • Log in to: https://learningspace.cisco.com/
      • If logging in to https://learningspace.cisco.com/ for the first time, click ‘I Agree’ on the ‘Terms of Use’ page.
      • Download one of the free content and open it in the online reader.
      • Play around and get familiar with the online reader. Useful features include:
        • Bookmarks
        • Highlights and Highlight Notes
        • Page Notes
        • Settings (font sizes, highlight colors, etc)
      • Redeem the Access Code for their course materials. Instructions are included in:
        • the “Activation Info for Cisco Student Kit” email containing the Access Code
        • the Cisco Learning Network Space – User Information page.
      • If the student cannot find the email containing their Access Code, ask the student to look in their Spam / Junk folder for an email as follows:
        • Subject starting with: “Activation Info for Cisco Student Kit”
        • From: “Cisco Learning Network Space <CLNSpace@external.cisco.com>”
      • (Optional) Install one of the Cisco eReader apps to download the content and allow offline study. The Cisco eReader apps are listed in the Cisco Learning Network Space – User Information page.
        • Annotations made in a Cisco eReader app will be saved locally when offline. To sync with the online eReader and save annotations to the server, turn the device online.
  • Prior to the class start date, ask the instructor to do the following:

    • Perform the list of actions under the above bullet point: “Prior to the class start date, ask the student to do the following“
    • At the beginning of the class, review the above list of actions with the students.
    • Also review the following information with the students:
      • In Windows, the Alt-Tab key combination allows jumping between various applications such as the online eReader, Lab portal and training session (e.g. WebEx).
      • The 8-hour timeout period will be reset as soon as an action takes place in the online eReader, e.g., if the student navigates to another page at 7 hours 59 minutes, the session will remain active for the next 8 hours.
